博物學 ,又名自然史。在現代科學高度分化之前,世界各地均有對自然萬物辨認、分類、採集的博物學研究。但人類真的是全知全能的嗎?本次講座將介紹歷史上有什麼令全體生物博物學家「諗爆頭」的現代生物與古生物,更有一些直到2026年仍為未解之謎。

Lecture 1: Traces Lost: Locally Extinct Animals in Hong Kong

Many people know that tigers roamed Hong Kong a century ago, but beyond tigers, various large mammals and species once settled here before quietly disappearing. We once had the chance to encounter these magnificent creatures in our own backyard.
This lecture covers species that faced local extinction due to urban development and analyzes Hong Kong’s native biodiversity through its environmental and climatic history over the past 10,000 years.
Lecture 2: Baffling Creatures in Natural History

Natural History is the study of identifying, classifying, and collecting living organisms across the globe before modern science became highly specialized. Yet, are humans truly omniscient? This lecture introduces living and extinct organisms that completely baffled naturalists throughout history, including mysteries that remain unsolved even in 2026.
