Ptolemy Museum Internship Program

I. Program Overview

During the internship program, you will assist the Ptolemy Museum in exhibition operations, event execution, and data organization. You will also participate in professional training in areas such as academic data collection and transformation, exhibition guidance, and promotional material production, based on your expertise. You will work alongside museum professionals, experiencing firsthand the daily work of museum staff, learning about the cultural significance of various rare historical artifacts, and sharing knowledge with the public – a meaningful and voluntary undertaking.

This plan applies throughout the year.

II. Job Content

Assist with the daily operation of exhibitions;

Support the execution of courses and activities;

Assist with basic data organization and content editing.

During the internship, we provide cultural heritage work training based on the intern's expertise, including: data collection and transformation, exhibition guidance, public education, and publicity production.

III. Basic Requirements

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary or undergraduate program and possess proactive learning abilities;

Fluent in Cantonese with excellent communication skills;

Punctual, responsible, and possesses excellent teamwork skills;

Interested in museums, cultural or educational activities.

IV. Salary and Working Hours

This program focuses on learning and practical experience. Interns are required to complete at least 100 hours of internship within 4 months. An internship certificate will be provided upon completion of 100 hours of internship.

The work is part-time, with approximately 5 hours of work per day. Interns will be required to work according to the library's schedule and may be required to work on weekends or event days as needed.

This program includes an internship stipend of $1,000 for every 50 hours of internship completed.

V. Development and Welfare

Opportunities to participate in international academic exchanges and exhibition collaborations;

Outstanding performers may be given priority for long-term collaborations or part-time opportunities.
